Psychological Assessment

We are fully equipped to carry out traditional psychological evaluations, neuropsychological assessments, and, by individual contract, evaluations of students in the public schools in need of evaluations beyond those provided by school personnel (e.g., independent educational evaluations - IEE). All full psychological evaluations will include a general and comprehensive measure of intellectual ability, as well as basic personality measures and screening for neuropsychological impairment. We will also assess academic skills, in greater or lesser depth, depending on the purpose of the referral. Additional procedures will be added for particular questions, e.g., emotional or personality disorder, intellectual disability, neuropsychological impairment, attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), learning disorders, etc.

Once you and the psychologist have clarified the referral issues and the questions you wish us to answer, we will propose in writing what assessment tools we will use and tell you how much that and the final report will cost. The total cost for most assessments  will typically run between $950 and $1250, depending on the referral question and intended use of the findings. Occasionally, we may agree to a limited-focus assessment for a lower fee. In some complexly entangled circumstances or with evaluations, in which we must integrate our work with that of other professionals in writing the final report, the fee may be greater. We will discuss all these considerations with you before we begin.

Law enforcement evaluations in Texas (L-3) are $350, unless there are exceptional evaluative circumstances.

Additional, hourly charges will be assessed for courtroom appearances, depositions, admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committee meetings, uncontracted consultation,

etc. These services, including travel time, will be billed at $100/hour.

Psychotherapy and Counseling Fees

We provide traditional psychotherapy and counseling for adults, adolescents, and older children. For younger children, we use play or activity therapy. Couples or family therapy is also available, including work with a Gottman level 3 therapist. One of our therapists is trained in mediation as well.

Psychotherapy/counseling sessions, depending on the nature and length, are currently $95 per hour. Appearances in court-related activities, ARD committee meetings, etc., are billed at $100 per hour, or any fraction thereof in quarter-hour increments. Psychotherapy or counseling “hours” are traditionally 60 minutes long, with 10 minutes of the hour for charting and other record keeping.
